Autism Friendly Screenings

Autism Friendly screenings are screenings where the environment has been adapted to be more welcoming and accessible to people with additional needs. These could be people living with autism, or other people with neurodiversity.

Autism Friendly screenings are specially designed to create a more welcoming and accessible environment for individuals with additional needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum or with other forms of neurodiversity. These screenings offer adjustments that make the experience more comfortable for those who may find traditional screenings overwhelming or stressful.

General modifications may include a more relaxed attitude toward audience noise, allowing viewers to express themselves without the usual expectations of silence. The lighting in the auditorium may be kept slightly brighter, and the film volume is lowered to avoid sensory overload. Attendees are also free to move around the auditorium or leave and re-enter as needed, ensuring they can manage their experience comfortably. They will have a reduced audience capacity to give attendees more space.

While they are specifically designed with the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum in mind, anyone who wishes to enjoy a more relaxed and supportive cinema environment is welcome to attend.
