An urgent new documentary on how to safeguard factual information in a post-truth era.

An urgent new documentary on one of the key problems of our time, how to safeguard factual information in a post-truth era of disinformation, conspiracy theories and rapidly changing communications technology. How to Build a Truth Engine assembles a diverse team of contributors from different backgrounds: technology, journalism, folklore and neuroscience. The consensus emerges that if you hack the information feed, you can hack somebody’s mind. We are taken from the information battlefields into the inner workings of the human brain and show how - through us - a web of lies can change reality.

"Undeniably powerful and riveting from start to finish, How To Build A Truth Engine is a vital film that presents morally complex issues, showcasing how higher powers can leverage the evolution of modern technology." - M.N. Miller, Geek Vibes Nation

The screening on 4 Nov will be followed by a panel with director Friedrich Moser and one of the key experts featured in the film, futurologist Professor Peter Cochrane OBE, chaired by Professor Julie Firmstone of the University of Leeds. The panel will be discussing the issues raised in the film and the huge impact of disinformation on the modern world on the eve of the US election.
