Santosh is a young widow who inherits her deceased husband’s position of police officer in rural Northern India through a government initiative. After the discovery of the body of a low-caste girl who was raped and murdered ignites protests, Santosh’s police station becomes the focus of media attention. The charismatic Chief Inspector Geeta Sharma is brought in to lead the investigation and she takes Santosh under her wing.
