LIFF 2024 Programme Now Live
The full LIFF 2024 line-up is now live! Join us for an epic and exciting journey through film from 1-17 November, with 104 feature films and 143 short films from the UK and across the world to discover.
This year, we have launched a new main section CONSTELLATION, including our feature film competition for first or second-time directors. We have expanded our FANOMENON section - the home at LIFF for fantastic film genres like sci-fi, dark comedy and horror - with two new competitions for features and shorts, and retrospective THE WEIRD OF OZ curated by Tom Vincent. We have developed LIFF SHORTS, sponsored by Stewarts, into a larger festival within the festival, with a new opening event, more screenings at bigger venues, and a new documentary competition.
We have also curated two LIFF SPOTLIGHTS that are the first in the UK. SMITA PATIL: SPICE & FIRE, the films of iconic Indian actress Smita Patil, curated with programme advisor Dr Omar Ahmed (moviemahal.net); and ETERNAL RETURN, films made by and that inspired internationally acclaimed Leeds artist and filmmaker Stuart Croft, presented with Leeds Art Gallery and the Stuart Croft Foundation.
A huge thank you to the entire team for their incredible work on planning, preparing and programming LIFF 2024; to Leeds City Council and our super supportive colleagues in Leeds Arts, Events & Venues; to our leading funder British Film Institute (BFI); to all our leading and supporting partners, including our main venues Vue Leeds at The Light, Everyman Leeds, Hyde Park Picture House, Cottage Road Cinema, and Howard Assembly Room, and their teams; and a special shout out to our new website developer partner CultureSuite for the Peppered-powered leedsfilm.com.
