Ria, an ambitious British-Pakistani teenager, dreams of becoming a Hollywood stuntwoman. But first, a mission awaits her: rescuing her sister from her impending marriage. With the help of her friends and some impressive martial arts moves, Ria plans a wedding heist that will go down in history, save her sister and show her family that she is an independent woman. Nida Manzoor's (We Are Lady Parts, Doctor Who) debut feature film is a wry, witty and explosive comedy which earned her the BIFA award for Best Debut Screenwriter.

We are thrilled to be joined by director Nida Manzoor after the film for a live video Q&A! Nida will be telling us all about the making of Polite Society, how she shot those incredible action scenes and what's next for her after the success of both Polite Society and We Are Lady Parts.

This screening is in collaboration with our friends Hyde Park Picture House, a two screen, community-focused, independent cinema, screening the very best films from around the world.
