A sensuous and wonderful film about striving for personal freedom in the midst of difficulty. Modern Palestininan couple Kamar and Zaid are blissfully wed when their land is confiscated by Israelis. Zaid is unfairly arrested and tortured for trying to defend it, and Kamar is torn between her loyalties and her right to pleasure and joy through dance. Her growing closeness to troubled dance teacher Kais makes her brave all opposition and decide for herself how to keep her soul free and spirit alive, dealing with the realities of life while refusing to become a victim to them.
